Wild News: The holidays are NOT cancelled​

We can all agree that 2020 has been a weird and rough year, but not even 2020 can stop Idahoans from getting into the Christmas spirit. Christmas is NOT canceled. We do live in Idaho after all. The Treasure Valley has transformed itself into a winter wonderland, making it inviting to slip away from the cares of this year and be reminded of the true reason for the season. So grab your hot chocolate and gather with your loved ones, because we’ve taken the time to compile a list of must-do holiday activities for you and your family to enjoy. Below are a few that made our list, from our Idaho Wild family, to yours!

Christmas in Color
Location: Expo Idaho | Garden City 
Time: Monday – Saturday, 5:30-10PM (closed on Christmas Day)
Immerse yourself in cheer as you drive through a mile-long tunnel of Christmas light extravaganza. With over a million lights dancing to the synchronized tunes in your car, no one will judge if you have a Christmas music dance party, but they might if you don’t. Tickets can be purchased online for $30 per car. So pack your car full of family and friends, and enjoy the magic of Christmas.

Scentsy Common Christmas Lights
Location: Scentsy Commons | Meridian
Time: Lights are on from sunset to sunrise
If you have ever driven along Eagle Road during the Christmas season, it’s hard to miss the miles of Christmas lights that is Scentsy Commons. Just when you think the 450 tree light tunnel couldn’t get any better, they went ahead and added a 65-foot Christmas tree!

Winter Wonderland Creek Lights
Location: Indian Creek Plaza | Caldwell
Time: 6-10PM daily
Indian Creek Plaza has just about everything needed to get into the holiday spirit. Here you will find millions of lights, Christmas music, treats including hot chocolate and handmade donuts, vendors, and more! Make sure to check out the Ice Skating Ribbon, don’t be afraid to fall, it doesn’t hurt… much.

Winter Garden a Glow
Location: Idaho Botanical Gardens | Boise
Time: Wednesday – Sunday, 6-9:30PM

Step into a garden of lights, as the Botanical Garden is transformed. Enjoy warm snacks and drinks from local vendors to keep you full and warm. Visit the holiday express model train, as you meander through the tunnel of lights and breathtaking light displays. Bundle up and bring plenty of hand warmers as this is an outside event. Tickets can be purchased online ahead of time, they will not be selling tickets at the gate.

Christmas Comedy Show
Location: The Creative Space | Garden City
Time: December 12th, early show at 6:30PM, late show 8:30PM

Discover the mysteries of the North Pole as Recycled Minds presents a Christmas Improv Comedy Show with a special guest appearance from Santa from 1-3PM. A selection of refreshments will be offered for purchase. Tickets can be purchased online at a discounted price of $12 or $15 at the door. Children ages 5 and under are $5.

Idaho Bright Lights Festival
Location: Nampa | Ford Idaho Center
Time: 5-9PM

The Ford Idaho Center knows how to do holiday events the right way. They bring their own twist to the classic winter market and holiday light display by offering live music performances, photo ops, and a holiday bar and fire-pit. While you listen to local artists, indulge in the hot and cold beverages, treats, and get some holiday shopping done from local vendors. Every weekend will feature new vendors, artists, and activities for you to enjoy! Be sure to check out the schedule on their website so you don’t miss out.
